Inspired by the relaxed atmosphere of Bequia and the lush tropics of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, ‘Into The Wild’ was born!
Since the very beginning of Bequia Threadworks, our goal has been to design and create fashion that reflects the bold attitude of Caribbean culture. With the recent addition of our new inhouse Design & Product Manager, Odini Sutherland, our 2023 Collection brought life to this dream.
Odini is a talented and experienced designer from St. Vincent with a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion, and has shown collections throughout the region and Europe. She brings with her a designer's eye, technical expertise and rounded perspective to complement our growing team of women.
Upon moving to Bequia, Odini found much inspiration in her new surroundings, from the laidback island vibe to an active sailing culture on our island. She combined these influences with the Caribbean’s rich heritage and vibrant spirit to birth ‘Into The Wild’.
Prior to joining the Bequia Threadworks family, Odini’s professional experience was predominantly as a menswear designer. Though this knowledge enabled her to evolve our most popular men’s styles from past collections, the immediate challenge came with womenswear.
With the support of our pattern makers and seamstresses, Odini created new silhouettes and styles for women in both striking and neutral colour palettes to ensure there’s something for everyone.
This collection reflects the evolution of the Bequia Threadworks’ signature style, together with our commitment towards sustainable fabrics and creative collaborations. Odini shares that the “styles that are luxe, colourful, and comfortable for all your adventures.” So all your family can mix and match, whether relaxing at the beach or going somewhere special.
